Ask Jocelyn's Mom

Today's questions come in from Debbie over at Smitten Kitchen!
I want to know what your mother thinks of your marriage--is she impatient that you haven't provided her with grandchildren yet, or have you been spared this? Oh, and I'd also like her favorite holiday cookie recipe. In no particular order.

And Jocelyn's Mom says:
I've been asked what I think of Jocelyn's marriage. Hmm. That's a tough one. I like her husband very much. He's a kind and funny guy and I wish he didn't live in LA. Other than that, I really feel it isn't my place to judge. I love my Jocelyn and support in whatever she chooses to do. Really.

Now, the cookie recipe. Our family loves the Peanut Butter Blossoms. No need for a recipe since everyone on the planet seems to know it. I do want to thank Deb, however, for her wonderful blog. I check it every day with tremendous interest. I'm a slightly better than lousy cook but there are a few things I do well. One is macaroni & cheese. When Deb put on her own version I felt challenged. After months of tweaking, I think mine is now perfect but it got to be this way with help from Deb's recipe. I don't do all the cottage cheese etc. but added to mine some dry mustard and a dash of red pepper. It gave it the final zip it was missing. I can now stop making it and know there is, indeed, one thing I do really really well. Thanks, Deb.

BTW, Dumont Burger puts bacon in their duMac & Cheese, not a lot, but just a few pieces sprinkled through-out. Just sayin...

I can vouch for mom that she makes a great mac & cheese and also that we have ALL benefitted from Deb's delicious recipes.

Aw, thank you! I had never heard of peanut butter blossoms before but I've definitely seen them. Maybe I'll make them for New Years, in honor of Mrs. Pixxiestails!
