When I woke up Sunday morning, after my spectacular birthday party, Molly, Alexis and I decided that we want to go to Balthazar for brunch. Balthazar is every New Yorkers favorite place to go for brunch. It's the fanciest most delicious eggs benedict you'll ever have. And their mimosa's? YUM! Granted you will end up spending $75 on breakfast, but it's worth it. I love it there. Anyway the three of us (Molly & Alexis crashed on my couch) woke up whining BALLLL - TA - ZARRRRRR.
We were ready in record time and took the subway to SoHo. (I am only 2 subway stops from Balthazar!!)
Well, guess what? With no reservation, showing up to brunch at 2:30pm on a Sunday was a lost cause. We were totally rejected. Sigh.
We ended up going to Bread on Spring Street, which was delicious, and MUCH less expensive. But not the same. When I get back from Mexico we are totally going. This time I will make a reservation.

They didn't want us. Sigh.

Ooooo I almost forgot. I am making another window for Kendra & Tim's house. It is above their front door of their house, it's coming along really well:

I am so jealous you ladies went a-brunching the next morning. Let's do a girls brunch there soon! We can even make a reservation... or maybe I should host brunch? It's been a while.

The next morning? You mean mid-afternoon! Ha!

Yes lets make reservations for Balthazar and you should host a brunch too!! Fabulous idea! Not on the same day of course....

I'll be in New York (from San Francisco) next week. Can you give me a couple recommendations for a fabulous but not crazy expensive dinner? We're staying in midtown so obviously we'll need to venture out. I've never been to Brooklyn so we're going to spend Saturday getting lost over there. Suggestions?

Dressler in Williamsburg!! take the JMZ train to Marcy Ave. Walk 3 blocks west on Broadway and it will be on the right hand side. Across from Peter Lugers.

Also Diner is amazing! (not diner food, just in an old diner)

After dinner at Diner or Dressler you can go dancing or have drinks at Bembe which is right there:

You'll love Williamsburg! I do.

OMG...I so want a piece of your glass work. Just a small one to hang on my wall. I'll make you empanadas!

Awww Babe, I wish I could cash this work in for empanadas. Fuck. Those hippie's robbed me. I might just vote for Guiliani if I do not get replacements!
