I went to go see The Bravery with David B. Fruit, Esq. last night at the Fillmore (formally known as Irving Plaza). The Bravery are my old school homeboys from Williamsburg. I love supporting local acts and I love that they completely formed their fan base and kind of exploded off of Myspace.
Anyway, it has been a couple of years since I last saw them--at a really great show at Bowery Ballroom. They were great last night, the crowd loved them and Dave still thinks their bass player is "sex on toast".
Here are the pics:

Doesn't Sam (lead singer) look like Elvis here?

The show was great, and except for about 5 mis-placed frat boy / douchebags the crowd was amazing too.
Plus what I love most about The Bravery is that it is rock music--even somewhat punk rock music and you can totally DANCE to it! Loves it.

Here is their video from my favorite song. Watch it!

Having been to a number of frat parties, I have to say that unfortunately... that's a HUGE frat party song, especially last year.

OMG. How tragic. Mmmmm. I was going to change the youtube to a different video, but Eh-- I can handle it, at the end of the day it's a great song.

Frat parties ruin songs every weekend, what can you do... it is a good song though.

Just what the world needs, Frat Boys co-opting a legit song as their date rape anthem. Douche bags one-and-all.

The bass player- totally S.O.T.

I always had fun at frat parties. You can take the girl out of CT...

Ive now learned 2 key things that ive been able to apply to my life, just from reading this blog.. actually 3 if you want add in the "pink pillows of love"

scene queen's
sex on toast

I went to a BBQ at Crissy Field and during 1 of the bands i looked to Steph and said OMG LOOK.. SCENE QUEENS..

She said that doesnt apply to us west coasters, everyones a scene queen in san francisco.

Today the UPS guy dropped off some stuff.. i sighed as he walked away to which 1 of my employees asked me... "whats wrong" .. I said.. dont you think he's sex on toast..

She asked me if that was similiar to "all that AND a bag of chips"..

I just cant seem to pull off being cool.
