March 29, 2007Hey everyone, this is Lauren from The Blonde Excuse guest blogging for Jocelyn while she's in Chile. Jocelyn asked me to post at some point while she was gone, so a couple days ago I tried to figure out what would be fun to put up, despite my boring life. I've been swamped with work lately for midterms and just got back from Naples, FL for spring break (which I already posted about), so I don't have any fun party pictures at all. Instead, I decided to make a really cool slideshow video with fun effects and music in the background. I didn't have time for it at all, but I got really into it and spent over three hours making it perfect. It was awesome, it had about 4 years worth of the best of the best party pictures with all sorts of shocking and scandalous Rock Star Diary-esque moments... and then my computer crashed. I had a Sony Vaio (my second Sony Vaio in college, actually) and I absolutely hate everything non-Apple now. I've never owned an Apple computer and I was a little skeptical at first, but Jocelyn has been raving about hers for a long time now so I finally came around. After losing three hours of work on my video (which I stupidly hadn't saved periodically) I gave up completely and got a MacBook. MacBooks are probably the coolest computers ever invented. I spend all my time now video chatting with my friends, making songs on Garage Band (a music editing/creating program), and playing with the thousands of downloadable "widgets." If you don't know what a widget is, don't feel bad, I didn't either... but get a Mac and find out! Anyway, I can't face the thought of re-creating my cool video right now, so I took a couple of Photo Booth pictures (another cool Apple program) for very mild entertainment. This is what I'd look like as part of a comic strip: And this is George in color panels: Sorry again, Jocelyn, for not having anything fun. At least I tried, and now I finally have an Apple! I should have listened to you all along. To all you readers, if you're terribly bored right now, I'm sure Jocelyn will be back with amazing Chile pictures soon so keep checking back! Lauren March 29, 2007 05:39 PM CommentsI am so proud of you!!!! Welcome to the world of Mac! That second picture is Andy Warhol, not color panels. see ya soon! Posted by: jocelyn at March 29, 2007 08:12 PM Yeah, I thought that was Andy Warhol but I thought I'd embarrass myself more by saying it and getting it wrong, than by just not saying it. Have fun in Chile!!! Posted by: Lauren at March 29, 2007 09:13 PM We will have to watch an Andy Warhol Documentary together. He is the most amazing artist, and the ultimate snob. I love him and his art inspires me ever day. (And obviously Steve Jobs too.) Posted by: jocelyn at March 31, 2007 09:13 AM Since I now feel like I have a vested interest in this blog, I mean, Ya know, because I was guest blogger for a day and all.. wait wait, let me rephrase that.. AWARD WINNING GUEST BLOGGER (suck it, bitches) I feel it my duty to provide some humor to the masses that come here seeking entertainment.. even if just for a mere giggle while Jocelyn is gone and her "real" guest bloggers are busy... I applaud lauren for trying to keep hers and her sisters goin.. but hey, I too, have no life so thought I'd take it upon myself to pinch-hit.
8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!
CAT DIARY Day 983 of my captivity. My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. Posted by: Cupcakes at March 31, 2007 03:29 PM Cupcakes, that was hilarious! I was crying I was laughing so hard. I have a cat and a dog, and quite often I feel like the cat only barely tolerates us. Thanks for helping with the guest blogging! Posted by: Lauren at April 1, 2007 12:19 AM I thought there were supposed to be two other guest bloggers. Hmm... I'm still waiting! Posted by: Lauren at April 1, 2007 04:10 AM Lauren- I was waiting to post because I wanted your entry to be at the top for a couple of days. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I like the Warhol bunnies too. Posted by: Alexis at April 1, 2007 05:04 AM Cupcakes was definitely drunk when she wrote that. Posted by: M at April 2, 2007 11:33 AM |
