« October 2005 | Main | December 2005 » November 30, 2005So the first day we got to Mexico we hung out at our hotel bar waiting for everyone to arrive, then went and sang karaoke at Sophia Bar, and then had fish tacos for dinner at Pancho Villas. Jorge told us that Pancho Villa was some sort of Mexican war hero who fought in the war when the US wanted Texas. I don't really understand how he won the war when we ended up with Texas? Or maybe he is just quietly snickering to himself, like ha haha suckers. Keep it. And just wait in 100 years you'll have the Bush family. Hah ha ha ha. . Anyway Thanks Pancho, Texas has really worked out for us here in the old US of A. Not. Here are some pictures from our first night: Carlos. Our hotel bartender, the best bartender actually, in the whole world: World Famous DJ Jorge Castillo: Jocelyn & Elliott at Sophia Bar: Jocelyn & Elliott singing karaoke: Jocelyn karaoke (I am pretty sure it was a Nirvana song): Paul, Karaoke (Frank Sinatra, New York, NY): Paul & Jocelyn @ Pancho Villas: And here is a little sneak preview to what we were doing while you all were having turkey dinner on Thanksgiving last Thursday.
Jocelyn Just got in from Playa del Carmen, of course we landed in a torrential downpour and I almost died in the turbulence. Ugh. Well, I just started uploading my 184 pictures. I have to go to bed so I only have time for a few right now--just to get your started. It will be Mexico pictures all week long. Jocelyn, World Famous DJ Jorge Castillo, and Paul: Knuckles & Elliott in the Cave: Paul & Felix the kitty that broke into our hotel room and stayed on vacation with us: Much much more to follow. stay tuned. Ciao for now, Jocelyn November 26, 2005Hello blog-readers, this is Jocelyn's sister ,Lorraine, guest-blogging while Jocelyn enjoys her birthday in Mexico (I'm sure she'll update you all once she's back). Thanksgiving here in Connecticut was, I'm sure, far less exciting than it could have been in Playa del Carmen, however we all got to enjoy a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal from Grandma... so I think we can call it a draw. Grandma, Poppy, Jacquelyn, George and his wife Kiki, Jade and Dallas (or as I call them, Mom and Dad...), baby Bjorn, and I were all here in Greenwich for turkey, stuffing, cranberry jelly, Grandma's famous mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and every other Thanksgiving food you can imagine. Being the new member of the family, baby Bjorn seems to be the star of every picture which may not be very Rock Star Diary, but he's very cute so you'll have to let it slide... Grandma and Bjorn in Grandma and Poppy's fabulous new home Sorry to Jacquelyn, George, and Kiki who I don't have any pictures of, I guess next time Bjorn will have to share the spotlight. I hope everyone had as wonderful a Thanksgiving as we all did! Lorraine November 22, 2005So I had my NY Birthday Burlesque tonight at Galapagos in Williamsburg. All my favorite NY peeps showed up--and it was nothing less than a blast! Here are the pics: This lady was hilarious. Marga Gomez: Steve, front row glued to Burlesque: Ciao for now, Jocelyn November 19, 2005Horton will be guest blogging tonight on his last Friday night at The Barbie Dream Loft.
November 17, 2005Here's my filandering husband in Los Angeles with Perez fucking Hilton at last nights X Box 360 Party. http://perezhilton.com/ is only my favorite blog that I read every single day about 30 times a day. God damn him! I am so jealous!!! He wouldn't even know who Perez Hilton was if I didn't send him the link. Ugh that bitch. Ciao, Jocelyn November 16, 2005So because there was supposed to be a huge storm tonight we decided to stay in and watch Tivo, drink wine and basically escape the horrible weather that has yet to hit the Tri-State area. Well it has been raining, but where are the tornados? Where is the thunder? Where is the torrential downpour? Where is the lightening? YAWN. Long boring night. Here are the pictures to prove our boredom: Raining at the Dream Loft, Jill & Horton: Ciao for now, Jocelyn Thank you, Pam Anderson for saying this: "They're desperate for a fur 'comeback' so they throw their pelts at any clueless celebrity, like Diddy or J.Lo, who'll wear whatever is free. Seriously, a fur coat just adds 20 years and 20 pounds to you, and if you get rained on you smell like a wet dog." November 13, 2005Sunday morning Horton, Jill & I got up early to go to brunch at Essex with Alexis, Manuel, Farm Fresh Fred, Knuckles, Jason, Dr. Strangelove and guests of honor, Horton's parents Jack & Karyn. It all started when Jason & Dr. Strangelove called me on Friday afternoon and announced they were in town from Providence, RI for just one impromptu night. They wanted to have brunch on Saturday morning. I picked Essex on the LES. You know they have a $15 breakfast special that includes three breakfast cocktails! And the food is amazing, it is a fusion of Latin and Jewish cuisines. So yum. Horton even invited his parents who are visiting him from Atlanta, Georgia. Dad, Jack is an environmental Lawyer and Mom, Karyn is a sculptor. They are absolutely the nicest people you've ever met. Meeting time was at about 11:30 and we had an amazing boozy breakfast. It was so great to see Jason & Dr. Strangelove, I miss them so much. After breakfast Jason, Dr. Strangelove, Jack & Karyn, Farm fresh Fred, Horton & I all went shopping in the East Village. We walked around all day and I finally got down to the Apple Store in SOHO to pick up a new keyboard for my computer--I spilled soup on it last week. Then Jack, Karyn, Horton and I went back to the Barbie Dream Loft to meet up with Jill, have some coffee and relax before dinner. Plus Horton's parents wanted to see where their boy had been living for the past month. I am convinced they thought he was living in squalor up until they met us. They LOVE Jill & I. And they LOVE all of my friends. Naturally. Here are some pictures from our day: Horton's parents Jack & Karyn: Karyn & Horton at Dumont: Ciao for now, Jocelyn
November 11, 2005Last night Jill and I got to go to Warsaw to see the Black Keys with free tickets from my favorite rocker friend Kendra. First let me talk about how amazing Warsaw is. It is located in Greenpoint near Driggs & Manhattan Ave. It is run by a bunch of older sexy Polish Ladies and they serve all kinds of Polish food in a side room (pierogi's kielbasi, Kraut, etc.) they have a huge stage and enormous bar in the front room. The sound is good and the scene is hipster heavy. Super hot bartenders like DJ Lax. It is officially the second best place to see a show in NYC right next to the Bowery Ballroom. Jill and I arrived early and we were so lucky to catch the opening act Nathaniel Mayer. I can't even describe how much fun this guy was. He was dressed like bad 70's Elvis, he had the whole place hopping, and he must be 70 years old. Loved him. After Nathaniel the Black Keys performed, and like The White Stripes, they were a two piece act and they were rockin! Jill mentioned that I should borrow their CD from Kendra so we could upload it into our I-Pods warm white bellies. No way. I am downloading them on I-Tunes or buying their CD. They deserve the money. Ciao for now, Jocelyn November 10, 2005I know it is really hard to tell, but Roqweesha is a lesbian. So Tuesday night Jill promised to take her to the local Tuesday Night Lesbo watering hole strangely named Boysroom in the East Village that came HIGHLY recommended by Really Gay Dave. Jill talked me into going by promising to buy me a drink. sigh. Well as it turned out Boysroom was a boy party. Surprise surprise. So we walked down the street to Thunderbirds (aka 2A), and I got in -- even though I was banned for life after calling the cops with Really Gay Dave after the upstairs bartender stole Dave's ID & Credit Card. Oh well, they must not of recognized me with my brunette locks. At Thunderbirds Roqweesha brought to my attention the NY Marathons filthy dirty secret. Yes they have one. There are "some" runners that want to make good time, so badly, that they shit and pee on themselves while running. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I immediately called Alexis to confirm this filth, and she said that indeed this happens but she only witnessed some girls peeing on the side of the Verrazano Bridge. And she wants it to be known that she did not participate in this ILLEGAL activity known as Urinating in Public.
Jill not happy about failing Roqweesha: Jocelyn. Was the free drink worth it?
Jocelyn November 07, 2005After Saturday nights jewelry party, Jill, Horton and I got up early and headed up to the Upper East Side to a little breakfast soiree at Manuel & Alexis' new swank pad. The reason for the get together at such and ungodly hour on a Sunday morning (11:30am is ungodly to residents of the Barbie Dream Loft) is because Alexis was running in the NYC Marathon!! Can you believe it? So at about 12:30 after breakfast & several mimosa's the whole gang walked over to 97th & 1st Avenue to cheer on our hero, Alexis. Of course because of the unseasonable high temperatures and humidity everyone who ran by looked miserable. Everyone's faces looked like they were in labor, and they were covered with sweat. Some of the runners faces were even swollen and bright red and splotchy. Not one single runner was smiling as they ran by. Alexis on the other hand comes running by with not one bead of sweat on her forehead and not one hair out of place and a big bright smile on her face. Rock on sister. Here are some highlights: Jacquelyn, Jocelyn and Farm Fresh Fred:

November 06, 2005Saturday-Night!! PICS: If-you-want-some-go-HERE Ciao, Jocelyn November 04, 2005Last night Lacy & Jewel rolled in to town from Boulder, CO. Lacy is Victoria's sister and she came out to shop and host a jewelry party at my office today and at the Barbie Dream Loft tomorrow night. We had some drinks at the loft and then we went to Northsix to see some rock bands. Jill's not boyfriend met up with us and then his ex-girlfriend showed up and tried to make out with him!! Jill was so grouchy, and hardcore PMSing, I don't know why she was so grouchy about it, he is not her boyfriend. Jeez. So there was lots of drama. Makes a night fun. Jewel, Jocelyn, Horton & Lacy: Horton--It's a cigarette!! I swear: Ciao for now, Jocelyn November 01, 2005Lorraine and her friends had a blast over Halloween weekend up at Trinity College.
