« August 2005 | Main | October 2005 » September 25, 2005Jill, Kendra and I went to Coney Island to see the White Stripes at Keyspan Park. I had never been to Coney Island before, and the first time I learned that Coney Island, is in fact, NOT AN ISLAND. First thing we did was to go on the Cyclone. It was so old and scary, I was screaming and laughing at the same time. You could actually feel the cars lift of the tracks several times throughout the ride. After the Cyclone we went and got a hot dog at Nathan's. It is true what they say--those hot-dogs were so GOOD, even though we had to wait in line for 55 minutes to get them! Oh and we also ordered a large beer and it was so ridiculously big. Jill and I were so embarrassed! After our snack we went over to Keyspan Park to go the White Stripes concert. Before we went I was pretty excited, I had a feeling it was going to be a great venue. Boy was I wrong. Sigh. It Sucked. First of all the stage was so far away, that even with my super zoom Canon Rebel, I could not get a decent shot of the band. Never mind the netting they had in front of us, or the huge sound tent the obstructed the view of the best seats in the house. The sound was OK, but I may have well been listening to a live recording at an outdoor dance club--they were so far it barely mattered. It was really disappointing. But my love for Meg & Jack white is unconditional, and I forgive them. It was a great idea, but next time please play somewhere amazing like the Bowery Ballroom, only sell tickets through your website, for your true fans, and no one else. Here are some pics that managed to come out: Jill & Kendra about to get on The Cyclone: Jocelyn & Jill, embarrassed by our beers: White Stripes, please note "the netting & Large Sound tent" on the left that obstructed views: Ciao for now, Jocelyn September 22, 2005I am an Aunt! For about a week now. Just got pictures, I know, so not rock star diary, but you know these things happen. And it is great! look How cute Baby Bjorn is! Grandpa Dallas with Baby Bjorn: Yay! I'm an Aunty Jocelyn. I was going to get him a Burberry Onesy, but not since I found out that coke head Kate Moss is their spokesmodel. God!! Can you believe it! Models do cocaine! UGH Ciao for now, Jocelyn September 20, 2005Saturday we woke up early and left beautiful downtown San Pedro and went back to Pauls fabulous Hollywood abode. We washed up and went to Rita Flora Kitchen for brunch. This is where Paul and i met my second day in Los Angeles, he hired me. 7 months later he fired me for taking to many vacations. We've been best friends ever since. Then we went shopping at The Grove, which is this big outdoor mall where the farmers market used to be on Fairfax & 3rd. I bought the most spectacular hand embroidered jacket, it is so amazing. I also got a gorgeous lace blouse. Jill didn't buy anything, I guess she couldn't find anything. That night we met all of our friends at a Mexican restaurant on Sunset Blvd. that has flaming margaritas, yup they were on fire! The food was great too. Then we went to Pauls friends Seth spectacular apt. on Santa Monica for a drink, and then off to my friend Jakes party in Santa Monica. It was such a great night. Here are some of the highlights: Seth & paul at the Mexican restaurant: Lourdes, Jill & Elliott (my husbands lover): Paul & Elliott at Seth's fab Apt.: World Famous DJ Jorge Castillo: Paul, my husband, so handsome: Jill--passed out on the floor, don't worry we picked her up and put her to bed: Oh my old friend Lola came to see us off at the airport! She couldn't party with us all weekend because she is 6 months pregnant! Ciao for now, Jocelyn September 19, 2005Jill and i flew into LA on Friday and my dear sweet husband picked us up at 8:30 and wisked us off to beautiful downtown San Pedro to see our favoite punk band in the whole world, Toys That Kill play at Harolds Place, their local bar. We decided to get a hotel room there so no-one had to drive drunk. we stayed the the beautiful Vagabond Inn in downtown San Pedro. Classy, but responsible. Jill, Paul, Elliot and i arrived at Harolds around 10:30, right in time to catch Foxy Autopsy. We all enjoyed many drinks and sang Happy Birthday to Jill. All of Toys That Kill were there--they were all so cute. We got pretty excited when they went on-we made them play all of our favorite songs, except Blanket, because Jimmy didn't know how to play it. Jill and I ended up in the mosh pit, but were prmptly removed by two huge guys, I think we were stepping on people with our stilletos. Oops sorry guys, but you did't need to spill whisky down our shirts either! Jill, Jimmy (drummer from Toys That Kill) and Jimmy's brother: Elliott (my husbands lover), Jill & Jocelyn: Todd, he's a celebrity, he can do whatever he wants: Jill blowing out the candle on her Happy Birthday cupcake: Jimmy, drummer from Toys That Kill: Jill getting icing licked off of her by her father's lover: I can offer no explanation for this guys hair: Awwww, The happy Britton family: Jill & Jocelyn--sweaty from the mosh pit: This picture makes me so happy: Jill & Flippy, the birthday kids: TOYS THAT KILL, my favorite band: Sometimes drinking makes you do funny things: Don't you just want to bite him? Jill did (bite him) (sorry really gay dave--she got him first!!): So Los Angeles Part two will go up tomorrow night! Ciao for now Jocelyn September 15, 2005Jill and I are off to Los Angeles for the weekend to celebrate Jills birthday! Toys that Kill is playing on Friday night in San Pedro and my friend Jake is throwing a party in Santa Monica on Saturday night. There will be lots of pictures and news to report when we get back on Sunday night! Have a great weekend! Jocelyn September 13, 2005Live from Trinity College in Hartford Ct: Look how gorgeous she is! Love the fedora babes, I wish I was still in college--looks so fun! And look how highly designed your dormroom is--my room was a dump with a cot in the corner. Then again Centenary College is a dump. Send me more pics and I can have a monthly college update entry--you know to sex up the blog a little bit with hot college teens. aha ha ah aha ha ahha just joking (sorry Mom)! Cheers, Jocelyn 10:50 PM | Comments (0) | TrackBack September 12, 2005So our friend Laci has moved back to Chile. :-( Ashley & Ashton had a little going away party for her last night. Everyone was pretty hungover from Darren beach birthday bash, but it was so chill in Ashley's Garden! Here are some highlights of the last year with Laci: Laci & Jocelyn at Darren & Alice's uber-loft: Ciao for now, Jocelyn 10:35 PM | Comments (1) | TrackBack September 11, 2005Darren threw his 30th b-day in style. Private beach party in Long Island City--yeah there is a beach there, with sand, on the water, incredible views, full bar, good times. I took loads of pictures. Look how beautiful everyone is: Laci, Jocelyn, Knuckles & Roqweesha: Laci, friend and Alice (doesn't alice look like stevie nicks in this photo?) Laci, Joce, Knuckles & Roqweesha: Tim in the car service on the way home: Not one single ugly friend. Sigh, ahhh the beautiful people. Ciao for now, Jocelyn 05:15 AM | Comments (1) | TrackBack September 08, 2005Jill, Kendra and I went to see Coldplay tonight at the Garden. This is my third time seeing them, and they were amazing. They just keep getting better and better. We had great tickets from the bands pre-sale on the floor, in section 6! Note to self, wear comfortable shoes when you have floor tickets, because you have to stand the whole time to see anything, and doing it in heels basically sucks for your feet! PICS: I am not obsessed with Chris Martin (ok, maybe a little bit), but there were so many people around me, it was hard to get a clear shot of anyone but him: This is when he came into the crowd and sang right behing us: Ciao for now, Jocelyn 12:08 AM | Comments (5) | TrackBack September 06, 2005Last night our dearest and queerest, Really Gay Dave turned 30. We all celebrated with dinner at Paprika on St. Marks in the E. Village. Of course the night ended perfectly with Steve sticking a dollar in the ass of a homeless mans blow-up doll. Alice & Jill (in her sensational new dress): We even had a cake for Steve, who turned 29 on Friday, but spent his time with his "other" friends: Ciao for now: Jocelyn 11:27 PM | Comments (3) | TrackBack September 04, 2005So we went out on Friday night and celebrated Steve's b-day, even though he didn't show up. He went out with his "Columbia Univ." friends. Whatever, we had a great time. Then on Saturday afternoon, I headed up to CT for the weekend with my family. Sunday was Grandma's birthday and we celebrated at McKenzie's in Old Greenwich. Grandma got hammered on one drink called the Commuter Punch, it was simaler to a Long Island Iced Tea, lots of booze. She started berading me about having a baby!! Ugh, I told her maybe I would get pregnant in the punk rock house when I go to LA. Ah ah aha ah aha ha ha. Anyway, the rest of the weekend was spectacular, chillin with my parents and going to the beach with Stinky Kyle on Monday. I got great color! Love it! Pictures from Friday night: Jill & her friend Carly, who was visiting from Seattle: Wanda (also visiting from Seattle) and Jill: Jocelyn, Alice, Carly & Wanda: 11:21 PM | Comments (1) | TrackBack September 03, 2005I know I am sorry I have not updated in over a week. It was a rough week watching one of my favorite cities drown, and then watching the government in my country desert thousands of poor people. The whole situation was really just making me sick to my stomach. Jill and I have opened the Barbie Dream Loft up to a hip young refugee through moveon.org--I know, not only are we cute, smart and fabulous--we are so unbelievably fucking nice!. God there is nothing we can't do. Cheers, Jocelyn 08:36 AM | Comments (0) | TrackBack |
