May 18, 2005Jill, Really Gay Dave, Kendra and I went to see The Bravery again at Warsaw last night. It was my first trip to Warsaw, and the venue was almost as exciting as the band. It was all run by old Polish ladies and there was a dining room serving Polish food such as keilbasi and kraut, what more can you ask for at a rock concert. Anyway, The Bravery were amazing, of course. Really Gay Dave was quite taken with their bass player, who after careful sound review might just be the biggest talent, musician wise, in the whole band. Dave called him Sex on Toast. Definitey a total babe, and if I remember correctly from the Bowery show, he might just be swinging Daves way. Next I have to share that a year and a half ago I bought a pretty great sofa bed from Pottery Barn. About a month ago the sofa bed broke. I didn't have my receipt I had no idea what to do, and I knew the standard warenty had run out. Sigh. So I took a chance and just e-mailed their customer service link on their website. They responded the very next day, with my order number & an apology. They arranged for a furniture medic, who arrived tonight and fixed my couch for free. I am always pretty damn impressed with a company that has such spectacular customer service. Just something you may want to keep in mind the next time you're in the market for some new funiture.
